Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Incredibly Stupid Things I Have Done/Do That I Would Not Change, If I Could Live My Life Over.

1. Take things to heart.

Know how bad someone can hurt.

2. Play like a child.

I don’t look my age.

3. Make people I meet online dear friends.

Amy, Bunti, Mir, Beth, Lill, Loretta, Sue, Doris, Cathy, Joyce, Kelly, Esther, Pat, Marian, Maryanne, Jean, Ann, Mandi… The list goes on and on.

4. Refuse to give up on the Tigers.

More and more like ‘84.

5. Moved to Ann Arbor, MI because of the guy I was dating.

Dumped the guy, kept the town. I love it here.

6. Dated a guy I met online.

I married him.

7. Am too trusting.

My heart is open and it gets hurt, but the joy is worth the pain.

8. Am too quick to forgive people.

I don’t carry hate in my heart.

9. Had a fight with my husband about where our relationship was going four weeks after we met.

We ended the fight by realizing we were meant for one another and had the same goals. To stay in our relationship for the rest of our lives.

10. Talk/ed about my deep feelings on my blog.

I met many wonderful people who like me in spite of my faults.

11. Danced naked in the rain during the end of Hurricane Opal.

No one was around and everyone needs to dance naked in the rain at least once in your life.

12. Fell apart and cried at work several weeks after my son died.

I met the woman who introduced me to his birth mother.

13. Had unprotected whooppee right after I stopped breast feeding and got pregnant with JJ.

I got pregnant with JJ!

This is a wonderfully thought out TT. You are so right that there are things we do which may not have been the smartest, but deep down we know we’d never change a minute because we wouldn’t be where we are now or with who we are now. You are so blessed with your four children.

And I love #11. I’m definitely going to have to do that some day. Good for you!

  2. katherine. Says:

  4. Toni Says:

Great list! It’s wonderful to live w/o regret! Dance naked in the rain??? you are brave! Does the shower count?? :)

    Check out my contest!

  5. Esther Says:

If I danced nekked in the rain a lightening bolt would come down from the sky and do drastic devastation to the planet.

  6. Tilly Greene Says:

Absolutely dance naked in the rain…never been so free and light hearted in my life.

Holding anger is a time waster, keep a positive outlook about everyone and everything is what keeps us young and loving people – keep at it :-)

  7. Lynn Says:

Everyone should dance naked in the rain. Preferable the first rain of the “season”.

  8. Gloria Says:

I’m with you. It is the past that shaped us to become what we are today. Whether our past, good or bad, are our blessings or our curse, only we can determine that. Always reflect on our past, I say, but never live in them!

    Have a blessed weekend.

  9. L-Squared Says:

Wow, what a wonderful TT! Thanks for visiting mine. :-)

  10. Beth Says:

Now you’ve got me reflecting on my set of stupid thing that I don’t regret. And it’s making me smile at the gifts that have come to me in spite of stupidity, impulsiveness, etc. Thanks!

  11. Nicole Austin Says:

Dance naked in the rain, huh. Sounds like fun, but knowing my luck, I’d get arrested. LOL!

  12. Shannon Says:

This is a beautiful list. Life is so much sweeter if you have love in your heart and can play like a child! :) Have a wonderful weekend!

  13. SusieJ Says:

Yes — so true for many of these.

  14. ancsweetnsassygal Says:

What a wonderful TT. I would love to dance saked in the rain, but I’m afraid the rain clouds would get scared and move on. Considering the fact we are in a drought, that would be a terrible thing. lol

Thanks for visiting my TT. I’ll post the answers tomorrow if you want to come back to see them. Happy Thursday!

  15. MissMeliss Says:

First, thanks for visiting my TT. Second, loved your list. Third – I also met my husband online. We’ve been married for a bit over 12 years now.

And the “click” you just heard? That’s me adding you to my blogroll.

(P.S. I’ve used this template, with my own mods, before. I love how warm it always feels…maybe I should use it again.)

  16. Perri Nelson Says:

Fun list. I’m going to have to try dancing naked in the rain sometime, but first I’m going to have to learn how to dance.

My TT is at http://perrinelson.com/2007/7/12/866.aspx. Thanks for visiting it.

Also… Nancy, you commented that you’re a liberal. There’s nothing wrong with that, especially if its sincere. I’m a conservative. Hopefully we can get along.

My problem is with the argument styles of some political bloggers. I hate it most of all when people use the first fallacy on my list.

  17. Denise Says:

I can relate to a lot of these. enjoyed reading your list.

  18. Mama's Moon Says:

Not a damned thing to be ashamed of in your list. Who you are today is because of things that you’ve done in the past…you’re better for it! Wearing your heart on your sleeve without hate, making true friends online, and dancing nakedly free after a storm – that’s the stuff of a person actually ‘living’ their life to its fullest.

    Happy Thursday!

  19. Christine Says:

As hard as #8 is for me to do , thank you for reminding me how important it is.

I enjoyed reading your list, it’s one of my favorites this week.

I’ve danced in the rain, but I wasn’t nekked. Maybe the clouds would send more rain our way if I did. We’re in a drought here in AZ. It would be a sort of ‘Rain Dance’ :)

    Happy TT!

  20. samulli Says:

That’s such a beautiful list. I like people who don’t have regrets and do the things that feel right no matter what other people may think about it.
Kudos for that naked dance in the rain. Don’t know if I could pull that off. Certainly not right here where I live now – wouldn’t wanna scare the neighbours. LOL
Thanks for stopping by my blog. ;o)
